Our History
1930 LRT First Founded
Established by Sir H. Nugent, using repurposed M. Scott horseboxes at Lambourn Garages.
1930s Initial Early Growth
LRT served over 25 local racehorse trainers, transporting more than 2,000 horses in its first full year.
1940s Innovation In Transport
LRT introduced forward-facing, Lambourn patented horseboxes – a new industry standard in horse welfare and safety.
1950s Leading Regional Operator
With a fleet of 18-20 boxes, LRT handled the majority of racehorse and bloodstock transport throughout the Lambourn valley and local area.
1960-1990s National Recognition
LRT became one of the biggest and most respected horse transport companies in the UK, trusted by top trainers and bloodstock professionals.

LRT Fleet
t LRT we are proud to be running a large fleet of Horseboxes built to the highest standard. The fleet is made up of custom built Oakley, Olympics and most recently Theault horseboxes, built to our specifications. Flexible, dependable & durable, L.R.T.’s fleet delivers a quality ride second to none , where horse safety and comfort is always put first.
Every horsebox is certified for transport of horses for long distance.
All the horseboxes on the fleet have fully adjustable partitions, allowing the horsebox to be stalled to suit each horse’s individual needs.
